Hey, Heroes! 🚀

Let’s have a heart-to-heart for a second. Are you out here grinding, posting every single day, tweaking your Canva templates until 2 AM, and yet… your bank account still isn't hitting that $2,000 mark?

It’s frustrating, right?

Whether you’re a Social Media Manager (SMM) managing three different brand voices, a service provider offering specialized packages, a digital product seller building offers in tools like Canva or Carrd, or a coach trying to land your first few clients: the "under $2k" ceiling feels very real. It’s like there’s an invisible wall between you and the consistent income you know you’re capable of making.

But here’s the inside scoop: it’s rarely because you aren't "good enough" at what you do. Usually, it's one of a few sneaky roadblocks standing in your way — and most of them actually start in the same place: your mindset.

Inside the HERO Method, the first step is HEart — and that’s all about mindset, limiting beliefs, and money mindset. Before strategy can really work, you have to deal with what’s happening internally. Because if you’re doubting yourself, avoiding visibility, underpricing, or staying stuck in fear, even the best strategy in the world is going to feel way harder than it should.

Want to see which one is holding you back? Let’s dive into the 8 most common roadblocks we see inside HERO Academy that keep solopreneurs stuck.

1. The "Tech Tangle"

We’ve all been there. You spend three days trying to figure out how to link your email provider to your landing page, only to realize the "submit" button doesn't actually work.

Many SMMs, service providers, coaches, and digital product sellers get stuck thinking they need a complex, 12-step funnel to be "legit." They spend weeks on the "back end" and zero time on the "front end" (aka talking to people).

And yes, sometimes this looks like a tech problem… but a lot of the time it’s actually a HEart problem first. Perfectionism, fear of being seen, and the belief that everything has to be polished before you can sell will keep you spinning in setup mode forever.

The Fix: Keep it simple. You don't need a $5,000 website to hit $2k months. You need a way to collect money and a way to deliver your offer. That might be a simple landing page on Carrd, lead magnet graphics in Canva, or a lightweight task system in ClickUp. If you're struggling with the digital side of things, Nicole has put together some incredible bite-sized tutorials in our AI and Tech for your Business vault. It’s tech for people who hate tech.

2. The "Hey Hun" Phobia

This is a big one. You know you need to reach out to potential clients, but you’re terrified of sounding like those spammy bots in your own DMs. So, instead of starting conversations, you just… wait. You wait for the "perfect" lead to magically find you.

This is another HEart issue before it’s a strategy issue. If you believe outreach is annoying, selling is selfish, or rejection means something about your worth, you’ll avoid the exact actions that create revenue.

The Fix: Sales isn't about being pushy; it’s about being helpful. If you’re a service provider or a coach, you have a solution to someone’s problem. Keeping it to yourself is actually doing them a disservice!

If you want to learn how to sell without the "ick" factor, our Zero to 2K Challenge is exactly what you need. It’s a cohort-based push where we literally teach SMMs, service providers, coaches, and digital product sellers how to generate revenue in 30 days. No fluff, just results.

3. Being the "Best Kept Secret"

You are amazing at what you do. Your current clients (if you have them) love you. But your social media reach is… crickets. 🦗

If people don't know you exist, they can't pay you. SMMs, service providers, coaches, and digital product sellers all run into this in different ways: you spend so much time making the thing, serving the client, or perfecting the offer that your own profile starts looking like a ghost town.

The Fix: You need a system that builds influence while you sleep. We actually have a free course called 21 Days from Invisible to Influential. It gives you daily activities to build a social media presence that actually attracts leads instead of just likes.

4. Pricing for Pennies

Are you charging $50 for a full social media audit that takes you five hours? Or $100 for a coaching session that requires three hours of prep? Maybe you're a service provider underpricing a done-for-you package, or a digital product seller trying to make up low-ticket pricing with way too much volume.

If your prices are too low, you have to work 80 hours a week just to hit $2,000. That’s not a business; that’s a recipe for burnout. Many solopreneurs undercharge because they lack the confidence to ask for what they’re worth.

That’s why this is such a clear HEart roadblock. Pricing issues usually aren’t just math issues — they’re money mindset issues. If you’re carrying limiting beliefs around worth, value, or what people will pay, strategy alone won’t solve it.

The Fix: Value-based pricing. Stop charging for your time and start charging for the transformation or the result you provide. If you aren't sure how to structure your offers, come chat with us during Nicole’s Office Hours. We can help you tweak your packages so they actually make sense for your bank account.

5. The Lone Wolf Syndrome

Let’s be real: working from home is lonely. When you’re the CEO, the intern, and the IT department all at once, it’s easy to lose focus.

Without accountability, "checking Instagram for research" quickly turns into two hours of watching cat reels. Before you know it, the day is gone and you haven't done a single revenue-generating activity.

The Fix: Stop trying to do it all alone. We host Weekly Coworking sessions every Tuesday. It’s a game-changer for my ADHD entrepreneurs out there! We use it as a "body doubling" session to stay focused, get our tasks done, and actually feel like we’re part of a team.

6. The "Busy Work" Illusion

Do you ever finish a 10-hour workday feeling like you didn't actually achieve anything? You answered 40 emails, changed your brand colors on your business cards, and organized your Google Drive… but you didn't talk to a single lead.

This is a protective mechanism. Our brains love "busy work" because it feels safe. Actually putting an offer out there feels risky.

So again — this is HEart work. Avoidance, fear, and self-protection can disguise themselves as productivity. If you don't address the mindset underneath it, you’ll keep staying busy without getting paid.

The Fix: Use the 80/20 rule. 80% of your results come from 20% of your activities. Inside the HERO Academy, we focus on the activities that actually move the needle. If you want to see someone who is absolutely crushing it by focusing on the right things, check out our latest shoutout here.

7. Over-complicating Your "Why"

Why are you doing this? If your goal is just "to make money," you’ll quit the first time things get hard.

Whether you're selling digital products, managing social media, coaching, or providing high-end services, you need a deeper connection to your business. When the "why" is clear, the "how" becomes much easier to navigate.

The Fix: Take five minutes today and ask yourself: what is my actual goal? Is it freedom? Is it to provide for your family? Is it because you truly believe your service can change lives? We actually have a great thread in the community about finding your 'why': go drop yours in there!

8. The Lack of a Proven Roadmap

The biggest roadblock of all? Not knowing what to do next.

You try a strategy from a YouTube video, then a tip from a TikTok, then a free PDF you downloaded in 2022. It’s like trying to build a LEGO set using instructions from five different boxes. You end up with a mess that doesn't look like anything.

The Fix: You need a roadmap. You need to know exactly where the leak is in your business boat so you can plug it.

This is exactly why we created the "Why Am I Stuck?" Free Assessment. It’s a diagnostic tool built around the 8 common roadblocks we see all the time — and it connects directly to the very first step of our HERO Method: HEart.

Why? Because most roadblocks are actually mindset-related before they’re strategy-related. Limiting beliefs, fear of rejection, money mindset issues, perfectionism, and self-doubt can all show up looking like "I need better content," "I need more followers," or "I need a better funnel." But if HEart isn’t handled first, strategy won’t stick.

Once you take the assessment, you’ll see which roadblock is most likely keeping you stuck right now, and you’ll get access to follow-up training in our Skool classroom with actionable activities to help you work through it.
